The contractor’s proposal desk
Before you send that roofing proposal.
Use these six checks with your current process or with BidGroove. The goal is a customer who can see what is included, what is optional and what happens next.
No account needed to explore the fictional sample. Sample company, project and prices are demonstrations; signing is disabled. Workspace trial terms are on the pricing page.
01
Name the included work
Review property protection, tear-off, disposal, decking assumptions, roofing components and cleanup. State exclusions and how concealed damage or additional work will be handled. Tailor requirements to the property and applicable rules; a generic checklist cannot establish code compliance.
02
Check quantities and prices
Confirm measurement sources, units, waste assumptions and rates. Review the customer-facing total separately from internal costs and margin. Make sure allowances and uncertain quantities are explained rather than hidden inside a seemingly fixed promise.
03
Explain the package differences
Give each option a meaningful description. Compare included products, work and warranty terms, not just a name and a price. Confirm that an optional upgrade does not charge again for something already included in the selected package.
04
Make every photo useful
Connect each photo to the scope with a plain caption: what the customer is seeing, why it matters and where the proposal addresses it. Remove unrelated images and check that the photo belongs to the correct project.
05
Set the next step
Review deposit and payment expectations, scheduling dependencies, validity dates, customer responsibilities and the acceptance process. Do not promise a start date or financing terms you cannot support. Make it obvious how the customer can ask a question or move forward.
06
Review the customer’s version
Open the final online presentation or PDF and read it from start to finish. Confirm customer, address, scope, choices and total. When changing a shared offer, use the revision workflow; accepted BidGroove proposals remain unchanged.
Questions before you choose
Can I use this checklist without BidGroove?
Yes. These review steps work with your existing proposal process. The interactive BidGroove sample is available if you want to see a structured online example.
Is this a contract template or legal review?
No. It is a practical proposal-review checklist. Your company remains responsible for appropriate project terms, code requirements and any professional review it needs.
What should I try in the sample?
Compare package descriptions, select an available upgrade and review how the displayed total changes. Then follow the scope and photos as if you were the homeowner.
